Dear Parishioners,
Many of you may remember me from the Summer of 2019 as Deacon Carl Schrage. On July 11, 2020 I was ordained a priest.
I have spent the first year of the priesthood as the Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville, IL.
A little about my background. I am native of St. Rose, IL, son of the late Edgar and Ruth (Richter) Schrage. I graduated from Central High School in Breese, IL and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign. I am a Certified Public Accountant.
After 25 years the business world, I entered Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, Hales Corners, Wisconsin. In May 2020, I received a Master’s in Divinity. Most of my family – including two brothers and two sisters – reside in Clinton County.
I look forward to being the Administrator of both Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception Parishes – to worship with you and to get to know you.
